Goodnight, Beautiful.

The last time I cried this hard over a book was after I'd read Marian Keyes' Anybody Out There. It's 4.14 in the wee hours of the morning and I've just finished Dorothy Koomson's Goodnight, Beautiful. Bloody, bloody sad story I tell you ohmygoodness. Okay there's Nova and Mal. Best friends since the day they were born. Both their families lived together all their lives. Mal secretly loved her. Nova secretly loved him. Used to visit each other while studying etc etc but neither one made any move. Bloody cowards I can't even... Okay okay moving on. Finally after eight months of travelling around the world, Nova welcomes Mal at the airport and he's all set to propose to her when all of a sudden, she introduces Mal to her boyfriend, Keith. I was fuming by this point. Aside from being heartbroken. After that Mal finds someone as well and the bitch's name is Steph. Excuse the language. I'm writing this post immediat...

Parklane

We've finally moved into the new house. And I have to say. It looks like something out of a magazine. All my life I've only ever seen my friends move into big bungalows with posh furnishings and lots of land around the house. Never did I expect to one day live in a house exactly like it. It's beautiful. Gated property about half an hour from town centre. Lovely neighbours. The dogs get to go for their walks every evening. I finally have my own bathroom instead of having to use the common bath. The shower is a dream I've never spent more than an hour having a shower before :P  The dining. The hall.  This is from the main entrance/foyer. It's dad's birthday and mum and dad's anniversary today. Had a quiet evening in with the neighbours. The big do is on Saturday and dad has no clue what's coming his way. Got back last Friday evening. Took a flight from JB to KL as usual and a Yoyo back to Ipoh. Bus rides make me so s...

Hello Again!

Crazy, crazy, crazy schedule these past few weeks. Can't remember the last time I went this long without blogging. Was positively itching to write a post on the recent general elections that went down early this month but simply didn't get the time thanks to our exams being postponed again and again. See, I was never into politics. Never have been and thought I never would be. Until I sat in front of my laptop from seven in the evening right up to two in the morning following whatever news feeds, websites, videos and news channels I could find online on the fifth of May. And to see how they lied and cheated their way to victory was disgusting . Earth Hour in the middle of counting votes? Are you f***ing kidding me -.- Phantom votes. Fraud. And to actually have the cheek to say that everything was fair and transparent? Bloody hell. We were warned about a mass media blackout and true enough that's what actually happened.  So many different website...

Of Planned Events & Nosy Idiots

There are about twenty new students who have come in for the foundation program for this April intake. Just two days shy of their orientation week, I was told to handle the orientation program together with my other friends who were given respective posts.  With such a short amount of time on our hands, I had a short meeting with them Thursday evening to come up with some ideas on what we could do and by the very next day I chose four team leaders and delegated all the work that had to be done. I chose the team leaders based on their given ideas and also because some actually volunteered, which made things much easier. On Friday for our next meeting I came up with the outline of the week long program and together with our secretary and co-director, we got the proposal done and handed it in to management. The first few days of the program basically involved icebreakers and Q&A sessions. Slowly once the students were a little more comfortable with their new environment, w...

April Odyssey

The year just started and it's already almost middle of April. Things have been really hectic since we got back from our semester break in March. In another three months or so we'll actually be done with our first year and will be moving on to our second. Which is crazy, considering how it still feels like we just started. I realize just how much time we had in our first semester to actually be able to go out on weekdays and still have time to finish studying. Now in semester two even our weekends are so packed we hardly have time for ourselves! Two to three exams per week now instead of the usual one. For the past few weekends we've been having something on so it's like we're busy six days a week and have only one day during the weekend to rest and recuperate for the coming week.  Our mid semester exams are coming up in just over two weeks. Everything we studied in semester one will be coming out as well so we're pretty screwed if we don't have ...

Jacob Artist aka Jake Puckerman

I'm dedicating this entire blog post to the love of my life. I probably sound like ten thousand, million girly girls out there with their never ending list of celebrity crushes, but seriously this is the only celebrity crush I've ever, EVER had. He's so  beautiful .  Absolutely beautiful I can't even... "Let Me Love You" was the video from Glee (Season 4; episode 12) that started this whole thing in the first place. I've been listening to it for weeks on end now and I'm still hooked. :') I realize that these pictures are of poor clarity. I got them off Google it's not like I've met the guy pfft but ohmygosh! Just loooook at him. Just loook . He's. Perfect. :') Jake say you'll marry me :')

Head-Made Scenarios

This post is for all the girls who keep telling themselves they can't and will never find the right guy for themselves even if he's right there in front of them. As much as I'd like to say you're wrong? You just might be right. Myself included. SCENARIO NUMBER 1; I checked myself in the mirror one last time before heading out the front door. My hair was in place. My clothes weren't crinkled. I was actually having a 'pretty day'. Hashtag HappyChild. Grabbed my car keys off the table, swung my backpack over my shoulder, put on my shoes and locked the door behind me. Bounded down the stairs with my ponytail swishing to the left and to the right.  Heart starts to thump.  Faster. Faster.  Fasterfasterfaster.  FASTERFASTERFASTERFASTER.  Is he there? Is he waiting? What's he wearing today?  A nd just as I reached the ground floor preparing to say something intelligent, I find he's not there after all.  With slumped shoulders I he...

See The Thing Is

I need to rant a little. Maybe a lot. I'm not sure. But either way. I need to let it out. I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE. Med school is a nightmare. N.I.G.H.T.M.A.R.E.  7 hours of classes back to bloody back, 5 days a week. Histology assignments to complete, Physiology assignments to finish, Biochem tests to study for every damn week without fail. Communication Skills and Community Medicine slides to go through, Moral studies to remember. OH MY GOODNESS. I JUST CAN NOT . I CANNOT. Excuse me for being anything but sanguine here, I'm usually hope personified but today...I don't know I suppose you could say my spirits aren't exactly lifted. I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't expect it to be this hard. I knew I'd have a lot to do but I didn't think it would amount to this much. I knew I'd be losing sleep but I didn't think I'd go days on end without any sleep at all.  It's only the second semester of our fi...

Girls' Day Out

We decided to check out KSL City Mall yesterday evening. I'd seen the signboard many, many times but I didn't know where the place was exactly. I figured it wouldn't be that hard to find it. So we set off. At five. Only to reach at almost seven. Instead of taking a left at the first traffic light, I went straight all the way. Ended up reaching Sentosa Mall. Called a friend and asked for directions. Took one long ass detour. Passed the bus station in town centre, passed so many other places and only when we had gone past Thistle, did I get my bearings right again.  Went back to the same traffic light where the signboard was, took the turn, then stopped at a car wash and asked this one guy (who so happened to be a Bangladeshi) how to get there. And we got there. After nearly two whole hours.    But it was worth it, I think.  So many little shops in KSL selling food and trinkets and what-nots. Pretty interesting if you take the time to wal...
