An Unfortunate Misfortune

I'd like to think of myself as a rather careful/cautious driver (my friends are nodding in agreement). But no matter how careful you are as a driver on the road, there will always, always be other drivers who will do something and casually and very conveniently put the blame on you. This is exactly what happened about 3 hours ago. I was turning out of a junction and I had my signal indicating that I wanted to get onto the right lane. There was a long queue of cars so I had to slowly ease my way into the line. As soon as I saw an opening, I put on my right signal and moved in. There was a Mitsubishi Grandis behind my car as I moved into the right lane. All of a sudden, after I get into that lane this Mitsubishi guy suddenly over-takes me from the right. And mind you this was a single lane, which means he actually cut into the opposite side of the road as he was over-taking my car. While doing this little stunt of his, the left back door of his car came into cont

Umm. Lanterns & Locks?

First week of second year has come and gone. Our lecturers are pretty good but the best one has got to be Dr Kishore for Pathology. My God he's an absolute genius. His jokes are so witty, so intellectual. "It's painfully annoying but I'll try my best to make it (Pathology) amusingly entertaining."  He doesn't come in with anything. Just a marker pen. No slide notes, no power point presentations, nothing. He either just sits down in front of the class and talks and talks and talks or he fills up the whole board with information we need to know. That's it. And his analogies are soooo easy to understand, relate to and remember. Really hope he stays 'till the very end and doesn't leave us halfway to go back to India. Fingers crossed. Money seems to be running out faster than water these days. Bills, groceries, stationery, photocopied notes, books and so many other things to buy and get sorted. Things have been so hectic this wee

Weekend Escape

Spent the weekend in KL. Cousin's wedding reception in the evening. Decided to try curls for a change instead of always having my hair blow-dried straight. And I have to say (please excuse me for sounding vain) I felt pretty hot. :3 Wondering now if I should consider perming it like this for a while and then relaxing it again OR if I should just get it curled temporarily again whenever I feel like it. Decisions, decisions.  Stayed at the Grand Seasons Hotel which was quite close the where the dinner was. Was so-so.  But the view from our room was rather nice.  Took this one yesterday at around 7.20 in the evening. And this one at around noon today. Went to Mid Valley and The Gardens just before coming back. It's amazing how nice hair can get you attention, seriously. In the lift as we were going down to the lobby there was this Indian dude who looked North Indian or something (a little on the chubby side but not bad. Heh.) The whole lift was like a

The Rose Petal Beach

Another read I recently picked up by Dorothy Koomson. Her stories are always so detailed, so different, so interesting. This one's about Tami and Scott.  I never wanted a boyfriend before. I remember how I always used to say how much I never want to eventually get married.  But things have changed. My mind's made up. And it can't be that bad waking up for the rest of your life to someone who never fails to take your breath away, right? "Here's the thing I don't like about being single: Waking up alone. The rest of it I really can handle. No matter what other people might try to tell me. It's this part I find hardest. I long to have someone to sleep with. You can get the sex anywhere, it's all around you and you can pluck it out of the air almost - if you're willing to compromise (a lot) on quality, usually - but it's difficult, really difficult to find someone you connect with enough to sleep with. I love waking up with a man
