Homegrown Tourist

Met up with V again yesterday after about 7 months. We walked around town, went to The Happy 8 Cafe for lunch (which was thoroughly disappointing), Plan b for dessert (which picked us up a little) and to a Trick Art Museum. Here are the shots! As we entered enter The Happy 8. Flowers and greens all around this little place. Behind the cafe.  Behing Plan b. The popcorn was a bit much but the brownie deserves brownie points. The watermelon and lychee smoothie was yum!  This was at the Trick Art Museum. I think we took more pictures yesterday than we have throughout our 7 years of being friends xD

Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines

Part of me finds it very sad that my own parents don't know the kind of person they have brought up and raised. They see me as someone who is very selfish, dominating, as someone who bullies her sister, arrogant, impatient, unkind, not bothered, irresponsible. Someone who just doesn't care or give a damn. In my mind these past few years, a majority of my thoughts have been revolving around how I will be helping my parents out financially once I start earning. I might not earn much in the beginning. But I already know that chunks of my pay will be going towards my sister's monthly allowance as she will be in college by the time I start working, and also towards my parents, to settle off whatever bills they have. The rest of what I earn will be used for my other necessities and savings, etc. I never tell them this because I feel it is my responsibility as the eldest to do my part in this family. And when the time comes they will see what I'm doing. There's no

Guilty Pleasures

Spent a weekend in Penang basically just eating and taking pictures. We had so, so much to eat. I don't think I'll forget the amazing rojak we had. Can't wait to go back for more. Small little appams filled with either corn or banana. This lot was all mine :D Taken at the Chew Jetty. Fried egg with oysters At Straits Quay Really good brioche from the Four Seasons bakery at Straits Quay. Then for 3 days straight I was out with the girls and we just kept eating.  Strawberry crispy butter bread. So, so yummy. We were kinda blown away by it because we really didn't know what to expect. The chocolate sauce we drizzled over it was just wonderful. Finally got to try mango sticky rice! If I make this myself I might just drown everything in coconut milk. Thai green tea curry. Still thinking about this but I've had enough to last 'till the end of the year I think. Went to Daily Fix in Malacca for this big breakfast. And th

Say At Me!

So this sayat.me thing is/was(?) a trend and I decided to give it a go for about 24 hours, if I remember correctly. And I got some very interesting/kind feedback 😂 Ask.fm was the in thing some time back but when I had that it was so dead.  This was pretty fun :P Still wondering who in the world wrote me that 'Cleopatra' message though! Just in case you're wondering: sayat.me/vdaybday

The thoughts I have for this post are currently scattered all over my brain. There are so many things I want to write about. So many things I want to share. God has been good. Gizmo is so so so attached to me. & to an extent I'm pretty attached to her now, too. Whenever I leave and come home she's always next to me. She's currently a little hyper so she's flying all over the apartment. Surprised a close friend for her birthday yesterday thanks to some other mutual friends of ours. She didn't see it coming & it was so special. She felt so special. The look on her face was priceless. Been sleeping pretty well for some time now. No subconscious thoughts worrying me or stressing me out. Things are great with mom & dad. With my friends. Another few months & I'll be done with my medical degree. Was talking to a friend today about a medical condition she had & this part of my brain just started giving her information about it. It&#

Life Update.

Two weeks into my Surgery posting. Another 6 weeks to go. Came back home for the long weekend coz I was really sick and I just wanted some TLC from mom and dad. Took me less than 3 hours to reach the Ipoh toll but it felt like such a long drive because my fever spiked along the way and my nose was blocked. Ugh. Thankful that there was hardly any traffic, though.  Went for a mani pedi today. Spent way more than I had initially intended to coz I got a gel pedi (apparently it dries immediately coz they use some UV light nail drier and it lasts really long). But oh well. YOLO. Not sure why the antibiotics I got aren't really working. Fifth day already and I'm still having fever and a very sore throat. Not really looking forward to heading back south but I'll be back home again before I know it. Another 9 months and it'll be the end of uni. Really cannot imagine how I'm gonna sit through all my other papers while working. Or how I'm even gonna start work an

Loving/Living This Moment

It's already March! Every time I begin writing another entry I can't help but to wonder where all the time has gone. I'm halfway through the first posting of the first semester of the year. This is the second last semester of my whole course. By this time next year I'll be waiting to get a job somewhere. Daunting. My trip to Langkawi was pretty great! At the infamous Eagle Square The beautiful view from our room  From the Sky Bridge  From the first stop of the Sky Cab  On the Sky Cab  Eagle Square view. Just look at that blue  Whilst island hopping  At Beras Basah Island  Our boat guy was so awesome xD  At the fresh water lake at Dayang Bunting Island  Eagle Square view  Sky Cab view Balcony view  We had really good food and took some really good shots. Made lots of really good memories, too. Looking forward to the next trip. Then my birthday came round and I'm now officially a quarter of a century ol
